Style + Sustenance

This Saturday I met my lovely parents for an afternoon of outlet shopping.  There were deals had (most notably my four pairs of Nine West shoes for less than $60) and Deegan family fun had (most notably a high stack of deep fried onion rings).  I look forward to Thanksgiving with more family and sales.  I also look forward to spring when I can rock ¼ of the shoes I just got.  As I was leaving my mom handed me a belated Thanksgiving present full of delicious treats.  That night Netflix and that box of goodies were my best friends.

Oh Oh…and check out my new hilarious wine magnet…

Belated Halloween

This weekend was my dear friend’s belated Halloween party.  The costumes might have been tame but the fun had was anything but...

Me and (most of) the girls.  And yes I’m Hipster Ariel holding a solo cup instead of a fork-brush.

Ayurveda + Appetizers

This morning I indulged in a little pre-work alternative, eastern medicine reading.  I’m getting increasingly interested in the idea that the combination of self-healing and self-realization comes from the union between yoga and Ayurveda.  This approach helps me understand why I crave the kind of yoga practice I do, and why I feel my best when eating certain foods.  I recommend you all read up on your prominent dosha(s) (see below) to allow you to follow specific recommendations to bring health into balance for your particular body needs.  Or you know, don’t :)

(this is a very simplified quiz, but I figure no one wants to take the long, complicated one I did)
Now onto a slightly lighter note- I’m on the lookout for delicious vegan appetizers to prepare during the holiday months with friends and family.  So far, I know I have to make these mouthwatering roasted chickpeas.  They are super simple to make and super delicious to eat.  Win-win if you ask me.  The best part about these suckers is the fact that they are under the “approved list” when it comes to food items my wackadoo, full of food restriction friends and family can eat.

November Nothingness

With the first day of November comes the first posting on my dear blog in ages.  I started journaling and hipstergraming and totally forgot about updating this bad boy.  To my loyal fans, I’m sorry.  This will never [i.e. probably will] happen again.
Look forward to lots of posts full of iPhone taken pictures that chronicle my drive to cook grain-less vegan treats, my journey to become a BAMF runner and yoga-er, my attempts at being slightly, almost, kinda fashionable, and my very exciting life adventures with family and friends.
Peace and crunch.
